Ceramic Components by Application
Microns Advanced Ceramics designs and manufactures precision technical ceramic components across five core application areas — structural & mechanical, semiconductor, automotive & EV, chemical processing, and electrical & electronic systems. Every component is machined in-house from alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, boron nitride, or boron carbide, and backed by an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality process.

Find the Right Application
Five of the seven are live guides today, each with materials, components, tolerances, and a component reference table. The remaining two are in development — reach out and we'll help directly in the meantime.
01 / STRUCTURAL
Precision Structural & Mechanical Ceramic Components
Applications
Custom tubes, rods, bushings, sealing rings, and structural parts machined to ±0.01mm for demanding mechanical and wear applications.
04 / AUTOMOTIVE & EV
Automotive & EV Ceramic Components
Applications
Bearings, seals, substrates, and insulators engineered for the thermal loads, high-voltage systems, and wear conditions of automotive and EV platforms.
07 / MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Mechanical Engineering
Applications
General mechanical and industrial engineering components — gears, wear plates, guides, and structural supports — for wherever a metal part is failing to wear, corrosion, or fatigue.
02 / THERMAL
Thermal Ceramics
Applications
Heat sinks, thermally conductive substrates, and insulating structural ceramics for parts that have to move heat without becoming an electrical or mechanical liability.

05 / CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
Chemical Industry Ceramic Components
Applications
Corrosion-resistant valves, pumps, linings, crucibles, and catalyst substrates for chemical processing environments that destroy metal parts in months.

Don't See Your Application?
Most of our components are custom-machined to a drawing rather than pulled from a catalog — if your application isn't one of the seven above, send us your specification and we'll tell you what's possible.
03 / SEMICONDUCTOR
Semiconductor Ceramic Components
Applications
Wafer handling arms, electrostatic and vacuum chucks, process rings, and gas nozzles built for cleanroom tolerances and plasma resistance.
06 / ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC
Electrical & Electronic Ceramic Components
Applications
Insulators, bushings, and AlN/alumina DBC substrates that carry electrical isolation and heat away from power devices at the same time.
One Materials Platform, Five Applications
The same seven material families are machined across every application above — matched to your load, temperature, and environment.
Al₂O₃
Alumina
High hardness, strong electrical insulation, the standard choice for general wear and structural parts.
ZrO₂
Zirconia
Highest fracture toughness of the technical ceramics — suited to parts under mechanical shock.
SiC
Silicon Carbide
Exceptional wear and corrosion resistance for seals, bushings, and fluid-handling components.
B₄C
Boron Carbide
One of the hardest engineering ceramics available, for extreme abrasive-wear environments.
Si₃N₄
Silicon Nitride
High strength and thermal-shock resistance for bearings and structural parts in demanding cycles.
AlN
Aluminum Nitride
Rare combination of high thermal conductivity with strong electrical insulation.
BN
Boron Nitride
Machinable ceramic with natural lubricity — useful for fixtures and low-friction parts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which application area is right for my project?
It depends on the part's job, not just the industry. If it carries mechanical load or wears against another surface, start with Structural. If it needs to hold or move heat, look at Thermal or Electrical & Electronic. If it's exposed to plasma, vacuum, or a wafer, it's Semiconductor. If your equipment runs an aggressive fluid or gas, check Chemical Industry. Automotive & EV covers parts across several of those roles inside one platform. When it's not obvious, send us the drawing or the failure mode and we'll point you to the right one.
What if my application isn't one of the seven listed?
Most of what we make is a custom part machined to a drawing, not a catalog item — the seven categories describe the kinds of problems our customers usually bring us, not a limit on what we can produce. If your application doesn't fit neatly into one of them, send us your specification and our engineers will tell you what's possible.
Do all seven application areas use the same ceramic materials?
The same seven material families — alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, boron nitride, and boron carbide — cover all seven applications, but the material for your specific part depends on what it needs to survive: wear, heat, voltage, or chemical exposure. We match material to application at the quoting stage, not before.
Is Microns' manufacturing process certified?
Yes. Production runs under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system, and every order ships with a dimensional inspection report, regardless of which application area the part is for.
Can one RFQ cover parts from more than one application area?
Yes. If your project needs, say, a structural bushing and an electrical insulator, submit both on the same RFQ — our engineers will quote them together rather than making you file separate requests.
