Abrasive Media

Heat sinks · power module heat dissipation · insulating and thermally conductive structural components

As grinding media, technical ceramics are used for surface treatment, cleaning, and precision machining of chemical processing equipment and components. Ceramic media also hold up in processes where mixing and dispersion are critical and contamination from a softer abrasive would ruin the batch.

We supply grinding media across a full range of sizes to match the specific grinding process and equipment used in chemical manufacturing — from fine polishing media to coarse mixing charge.

Catalysis & Reaction

Honeycomb ceramics · foam ceramics · ceramic fillers · porous ceramics

Catalysis and reaction efficiency sit at the center of chemical processing. Honeycomb ceramics, foam ceramics, ceramic packing, and other porous ceramic forms are widely used as catalyst supports, tower packing, and reaction media in chemical processing equipment — common in petrochemical refining, gas handling, and environmental catalysis systems.

We produce custom porous and honeycomb ceramic geometries to match your reactor design, from lab-scale catalyst supports through full production volumes.

Corrosion-Resistant Structural Components

Ceramic tube · valves · pumps · ceramic linings · crucibles

Harsh chemical environments accelerate the degradation of metal components, driving frequent maintenance and unplanned downtime. Ceramic structural components offer a more durable alternative, combining corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and thermal stability in one material.

We machine corrosion-resistant structural components to your drawing, including ceramic pipe, valve bodies, pump components, liners, and crucibles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of precision ceramics in the chemical industry?

Ceramics resist high temperatures, corrosive chemicals and abrasive wear far longer than metal equivalents, which means fewer replacements, less unplanned downtime, and lower total maintenance cost across the life of the equipment.

What are some common applications of advanced ceramics in chemical processing?

Ceramic valves, pumps, pipe linings, crucibles, sealing rings, and catalyst substrates are the most common — anywhere a fluid or gas is corrosive, abrasive, or extremely hot, ceramics are typically the more durable choice over metal.

Can ceramic components replace metal parts in chemical equipment?

In most wear- and corrosion-driven failure cases, yes. The exception is where the part also needs to flex, absorb heavy impact, or be welded in place — those cases need an engineering review before switching from metal to ceramic.

Which ceramic material holds up best against acids and alkalis?

Silicon carbide and high-purity alumina resist essentially all common acids, alkalis and organic solvents (hydrofluoric acid is the notable exception). Zirconia adds toughness where the part also faces mechanical shock.

Can you manufacture custom crucibles, linings or valve components to our drawing?

Yes. Send a DWG, STEP, or dimensioned PDF drawing with your material and temperature/chemical exposure requirements, and our engineering team will return a manufacturing quote, typically within 24 hours.
